Hello! I am excited for my 30th year in education, and my 16th year as the music teacher here at Riverview! After graduating from Louisiana State University, my teaching career began in my hometown of Lakeland, Florida. After teaching there for 9 years, I moved to the Kansas City area in 2002 and spent 5 years at Sylvan, where I was a reading/math teacher and then a Director of Education. I missed being in the music classroom, and when the opportunity arose at RE, I jumped! I have loved making music with our amazing students ever since! I have a daughter who grew up in our De Soto schools, including RE, and is now majoring in music education at KU! This is going to be another great year of learning and growing through music and I can’t wait to see and hear what our amazing musicians have to share!

Hello! My name is Traci Seyb and I’m the technology teacher at Riverview. My husband and I live in the Riverview area and both of our children attended Riverview years ago. One is thriving in Boston after receiving a finance degree from Kansas State and the other at Pitt State studying Construction Management. I’m heading into my 30th year of teaching this year. I graduated from Kansas State University eons ago and started my teaching career in Wichita with fifth grade. We then moved to the North East corner of the state and I taught in Lawrence as a multi age teacher and a Literacy Learning Coach for several years. We moved to Shawnee when our daughter was in preschool and I decided I wanted to teach in the same district as my children. I taught fifth grade at Clear Creek for a couple of years and then when Riverview opened; I transferred over and taught fifth grade at Riverview. I was really excited to teach at Riverview because our school was one of the first to get one to one computers as a pilot that year. I jumped in as the tech teacher my second year here and have been loving it ever since. In my free time I enjoy traveling, volunteering, gardening and exploring trails with our sweet dog.

Hello! This is my 9th year here at Riverview and I absolutely love it! I love getting to teach the students ways to be active that can last a lifetime, all while having some fun! I grew up in the DeSoto School District, so getting to be an educator in the district that helped shape me into who I am is an honor. I received my Bachelor’s in Education from KU (rock chalk!) and my Master’s in Education from Emporia State University. My husband and I have been married for 3 years and have a sweet one year old daughter named Hattie. My favorite things to do in my free time is spend time with my family, get outside to ride bikes, walk, or play sand volleyball, and watch movies. I am so excited for another wonderful year at Riverview!

I am coming to you straight from South Central Texas and have wanted to live in Kansas for more years than I can remember. I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio and later received my master's degree in Library Science from Texas A&M in Commerce. I have been an elementary librarian for the last six years and before that, I taught both 1st and 3rd grades. Elementary has my heart and it is my joy to share a love of reading with your children.
